AKOMEYA TOKYO Kaya-Fabric Kitchen Towel Infused with Binchotan Charcoal - Rice Ball Embroidery
Made by: AKOMEYA TOKYO
$11.20
This kaya-cloth kitchen towel is woven with Kishu Binchotan charcoal infused into the fabric. Thanks to the charcoal's natural deodorizing and purifying qualities, it stays fresher and cleaner with everyday use.
Finished with a tiny rice balls (onigiri) embroidery that brings a subtle, charming highlight to the simple design.
Kishu Binchotan is a premium white charcoal made from ubame oak, a Kishu specialty. Produced using traditional techniques that have been carefully passed down through generations, it's considered the finest of its kind.
Akomeya's mesh dishcloths are crafted in Nara, the only domestic production area for traditional mesh fabric. Each cloth is then carefully hand-printed, dried, inspected, and packaged one by one in neighboring Wakayama. Passing through the hands of skilled artisans at every stage, each piece is delivered as a single, thoughtfully made mesh dishcloth. With decades of supporting Japan's food industry, the factory brings the same exacting attention to the threads it selects.
Made from rayon threads, this woven kaya cloth offers 1.3 times the absorbency of cotton and easily wipes away grease. Its layered, airy weave dries quickly, keeping it fresh and hygienic with every use.
